October 2022
Greetings from Northern Ireland,
Here in my corner, Autumn has arrived but you might be in the southern hemisphere where it’s Spring and you’re lucky because that’s where all the birds have gone.
It’s quiet now.
I’ll miss getting woken up by their chattering for the next couple of months when I have to convince myself that it is indeed morning even though it’s still nightime.
Enjoy having them there ♥
Autumn and Spring are the two seasons where everywhere you look, you see vibrant colours all around, and the air is crisp and chilly.
I know there’s always so much to do and so little time, but you should take a minute out of the 1,440 minutes you have today to go outside and to take a deep breath, to look up at the sky or the changing colours. It won’t make you rich, it won’t change your circumstances, but it will make you feel glad to be alive.
Because the days are getting shorter and a little gloomier, I tend to want to start my hibernation early. There are days when I think I just want to sit on the couch with a blanket, a mug of hot chocolate, and a book or watch a movie but, alas, always so much to do…
However!
It is also the month for all things spooky and scary.
All things nice and pumpkin spicy.
I’ve decided this year for Halloween I am going to dress up as Einstein, not because I think I’m exceptionally brainy but I think I have the look without having to spend a lot of money or even a lot of effort. All I need is a bit of hair mousse to get my hair to go all sticky-uppy and I’ll almost be his doppelgänger. I’ll post photos on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/fictionforthesoul
I love watching scary movies. I’m not really into slasher movies with blood and gore but I do enjoy a good paranormal/supernatural movie full of jump scares. We’re watching Mr. Harrigan's Phone this weekend on Netflix, so I’m looking forward to that. It looks just like my kind of thing. Have you watched it yet?
Do you have any favourite scary movies?
Want to make some suggestions?
Maybe we even like the same ones.
Last but not least of all my favourite Autumn (October) things this year is that I’ve discovered Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s so yummy! To make your own at home, I found this Starbucks recipe on their website (which I didn’t even know was a thing). I’ll be trying this recipe soon. You’ll find it at https://athome.starbucks.com/recipe/pumpkin-spice-latte
I hope you’re enjoying reading ForNever. If you haven’t started reading yet, you can start here:
Befitting the month of October, you can also start reading The Invisible Girl in Room Thirteen already posted in daily episodes of a thousand words, or Murder Gone Viral.
Because it’s Halloween, there’s a sale at the moment in my Little Book Shop
You can download all the eBooks at 50% off the retail price when you use the discount code F68HGMMRXF. The sale ends on 31 October 2022.
I am hard at work on creating Audio Books of all my stories, and that is what I’m listening to these days. If you would like to be a beta listener, let me know and I’ll add you to my list. You’ll have to have access to Google Play Books, and I would (obviously) like to hear what you thought about the listening experience. These will also be available to buy from my Little Book Shop soon-ish.
I told you last time that I had started watching Locke & Key on Netflix, and let me tell you how amazing it is. I am enjoying every minute of watching it, and I already started Season 3 today.
It is such a clever story. One I wish I had written or thought of first. It’s about keys and all the different things these keys can do. The villians are really wicked and evil and awful but as soon as the Lockes get rid of one, another one comes along.
Although each actor in the show is really talented, Connor Jessup who plays Tyler is such an excellent actor. Someone died in Season 2 (no spoilers) and the look on his face was so real. Every emotion he has is there on his face as it would be in real life. Sometimes actors who do this over-act and it looks false but with Connor Jessup in Locke & Key it is so very believable. Just amazing!
If ever someone decides to make a movie of one of my stories, he would be the dreamcast of all my sweet romance stories :)
That’s all from me this week.
I hope you have a wonderful October ♥
